Meet Joyce

Joyce (Siegel) Peppin was born in 1970 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Bud and Janet Siegel and grew up baling hay, milking cows and plucking chickens on a family farm in nearby Randall. She graduated from Little Falls High School and became the first in her family to attend college. Joyce graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth with Political Science and Speech-Communications degrees.

After college, Joyce worked as a Campaign Field Representative for five legislative candidates and then became a Communications Specialist in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1992-1996. Joyce then went on to become Communications Manager and Vice-President of Public Relations for US Bancorp.

Joyce is serving her third term in the Minnesota House of Representatives. In 2004, Joyce successfully sought Republican endorsement to represent District 32A in the legislature. She won her first election, a three-way race, with 54 percent of the vote. She was re-elected in 2006 and 2008 with 65 and 66 percent of the vote, respectively.

Joyce is proud to have been awarded international fellowships from the German Marshall Fund of the U.S. and the American Council of Young Political Leaders. She has traveled to China and Europe (not at government or taxpayer expense) to participate in international political and diplomatic exchanges for state and national government leaders.

In 2007, Joyce earned her MBA degree from the University of St. Thomas. Joyce’s hobbies include running and reading. She and her husband, Gregg, are the parents of two children, Mara and Helena. Joyce is a member of the Friends of the Rogers Library and I-94 West Chamber of Commerce. The Peppin family lives in Hassan Township and attends Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Rogers.
