Conservative PAC backs seven more female candidates

VOICES of Conservative Women, a fledgling political action committee that works to elect female politicians, has endorsed seven additional state House and Senate candidates. The group includes a pair of incumbents and five challengers, all Republicans.

In Senate District 10, the group is backing Gretchen Hoffman against first-term incumbent Dan Skogen. In the Austin area, the PAC is supporting Kathy Green against two-term incumbent Dan Sparks.

On the House side, VOICESPAC is backing Sondra Erickson against DFL Rep. Gail Kulick Jackson, of Milaca. It will be the fourth straight election cycle that the two politicians have faced each other. Erickson won the first two contests, but was defeated in 2008.

The group’s also backing Jennifer Gumbell, who is looking to oust four-term incumbent Patti Fritz (Faribault), and Andrea Kieffer, who is taking on two-term Rep. Marsha Swails (Woodbury). The incumbents are state Reps. Jenifer Loon, of Eden Prairie, and Joyce Peppin, of Rogers.

VOICESPAC previously endorsed eight legislative candidates. In all the group expects to back 30 candidates for legislative and local offices in 2010.
